What is the Technical Novelties Contest?

The Technical Novelties Contest aims to recognize the products developed by those companies in the sector that invest in R+D+i, selecting the products that stand out for their technological contribution, innovation, and results in terms of market needs.

Its independent jury is made up of distinguished professionals in each edition, and the awarding of the prize, in any of its categories (GOLD, PLATA and BRONCE), is undoubtedly recognition for exemplary work.

The Contest is aimed at exhibitors at SMOPYC 2026 and the deadline for submission of applications will close at 23:59 hours (GMT+2h) on January 30, 2026.

Exhibiting company may present one or more machines, equipment, components, auxiliary means, services, and even prototypes that meet the following requirements:
- They must not have been commercially available prior to the last SMOPYC event (November 2023).
- They are presenting themselves for the first time at SMOPYC.
- That they represent a technological innovation that results in an improvement in efficiency, quality, occupational health and safety, or sustainability.
- That they comply with all the current legislation applicable to the innovation presented.

In addition, they must complete the form and send via email the documentation required in point 5 of the call.
